Matt is a trainee Marine Surveyor with Kedge Pty Ltd as well as running his own southern rock lobster fishing vessel in Tasmania. Starting out as an apprentice fitter and turner he then followed the family tradition and went to sea as a fisherman in 1999. In 2006 after running a vessel engaged in the Basslink cable installation he went to sea on an oil production facility in Bass Strait, the FPSO Crystal Ocean, as a marine engineer. In 2012 Matthew moved to Farstad as a second engineer on various platform supply and anchor handling vessels. He and his partner Tanya started their own crayfishing business in 2016. Matthew holds a Diploma of Marine Engineering, a Master Class V and is a qualified fitter and turner. Matthew is fully accredited and helps us to maintain the high standards that MAST have established here in Tasmania.
